On Wednesdays, we’re wearing pink! 💕

Many of our Team Members are wearing pink every Wednesday in October to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Corporate Activity Committee is also hosting brief pink receptions every Wednesday to share refreshments with their team and offer a gentle reminder to take preventative measures and make time for your annual screenings. We had a blast at our 3rd annual MFG Day in the Park with nearly 150 4th graders in Paris, IL. This is one of our favorite events of year because we get to celebrate our industry and share with the community what modern manufacturing is all about. Students rotated through different manufacturing and STEM stations getting hands on experience working with a CNC machine, miter saw and sander to build their very own tic tac toe board, and learned about welding, tire changing, patterns and the importance of following instructions.

In addition to their annual appreciation lunch, the Corporate Team planned a Manufacturing Spirit Week full of fun dress up themes and daily wellness challenges. The more Team Members participated, the more raffle tickets they could redeem to put in prize drawings of their choice. Prizes ranged from gift cards for local eateries, to NAL swag, a massage gift card, local concert tickets and more. Thanks to everyone who participated and made it such a fun week!

🎓 Alma Mater Monday + Vocational Wellness Challenge: Being that it is the start of quarter 4, everyone was encouraged to revisit and update their professional goals and were gifted NAL t-shirts.

🏝️ Tropical Tuesday + Environmental Wellness Challenge: To promote health and sustainability at home and work, Team Members cleaned up their workspace, switched out household cleaners for greener options, paid more attention to recycling, and partnered up with a co-worker for cross training/brainstorming.

💕 On Wednesdays We Wear Pink + Social Wellness: Team Members were invited to the annual appreciation lunch to hang out with coworkers over a yummy taco bar. They also wore pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, and NAL’s online employee apparel store was set up onsite for Team Members to browse samples before placing custom orders.

🧢 Thursday Hat Day + Intellectual Wellness: We challenged everyone to a virtual trivia quiz to test their NAL and industry knowledge. Congrats to the 10 who got perfect scores!

🏈 Fan Friday + Physical Wellness: It was a race against time to clock 6,000 steps before 3pm or take a 10-minute walk over lunch. We also gave out rally towels (cooling towels) to all our fans dressed in NAL swag or their favorite sports team. ... See MoreSee Less

Congratulations to the Salem Team for winning the Little Egypt Festival's Mayor’s Choice award for their 80’s themed parade float. The colorful float also took first place in the large business category. The festival’s overall theme was “Music to Our Ears,” so to commemorate the plant’s opening in 1987, the Salem team chose the 80’s music era. NAL’s Director of Corporate Production Control, Brian Gosnell, was recently invited to sit on a panel at Indiana State University's “Day of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM)” where he shared his wealth of knowledge with students as it relates to his 22 year career at NAL and the industry itself. Brian is an original member of the ISU OSCM Advisory Board founded in 2013, and remains involved on campus through NAL’s and ISU’s corporate partnership designed to support student development in a variety of disciplines and provide scholarships to OSCM students. He was also accompanied by Haylee Fisher, Production Planning Supervisor, and Scott Fish, Purchasing Manager, for the career fair and networking portion of the program. Shout out to all the volunteers from our Salem, IL plant who partnered with Mission Salem, an organization providing wheelchair ramps, handrails and modified steps for people in need, for their Honda service project! Our crew completed one entire ramp from start to finish, removed a ramp that was no longer in use, and bult all sections for four more ramp installs.
